Software training company Infinite Skills Inc. this week released its “Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical 2015 Learning Tutorial,” an introductory course designed to teach essential tools, controls, and best practices for designing electrical projects with this popular AutoCAD extension for electrical engineers.
AutoCAD Electrical is an extension of standard AutoCAD software, adding a comprehensive set of electrical CAD functionality, including comprehensive symbol libraries and efficient tools to automate electrical design tasks.
The Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical 2015 Infinite Skills Learning Tutorial targets this set of tools, providing instructions and demonstrations for using a wide selection of its most important tools and features, providing new users with all the skills and all the tools needed to start creating their own electrical projects.
Course author Shaun Bryant is a training consultant with 20 years of hands-on experience as an AutoCAD user in the practice of civil and structural engineering. He has worked for Autodesk in sales, support, and training, and is currently an Autodesk Certified Instructor, holding AutoCAD 2013 Certified Professional status. Bryant currently provides AutoCAD training and advice in a professional manner. .
Bryant starts with the basics, demonstrating fundamentals such as navigating, working with the DWG file type, understanding the modeling environment, and interacting with the cloud using Autodesk 360.
The course then continues with a step-by-step guide to setup and preparation, as Bryant explains the drawing settings, shows a few typical electrical drawings, and explains the basic workflow. It then details the electrical user interface, demonstrating how to use the controls in the electrical environment, work with the project manager, adjust graphics performance, create backups, etc.
Bryant then devoted several chapters to learning to draw electrical diagrams. It provides in-depth demonstrations on working with wires and ladders, using schematic components, editing schematics, using connectors, and creating point-to-point and circuit schematics.
The course concludes with chapters examining in detail the reporting tools and output options of AutoCAD Electrical.
“This is a very detailed course, designed for beginners, in which we will cover as much as possible in AutoCAD Electrical,” says Bryant.
“The course is designed for students to learn to create their own electrical projects and to generate the database behind those projects.”
