APPARATUS is a New York-based design studio that designs and manufactures lighting, furniture and objects both in-house and with the support of high-quality external partners, sold worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Translate the vision of the creative director in the conception of the design until the realization, by working in a collaborative and independent environment.

Responsible for communicating the vision and design program to the design team, providing supporting briefs and delegating tasks to achieve project milestones.

· Oversee the selection of finishes and furniture by leading the team to research, coordinate and deliver on site as needed.

· Prepare project schematics and charts for visual reference throughout the project timeline, keeping updated samples well represented with accurate pricing and availability.

· Produce detailed interior elevations, custom millwork and construction drawings that meet and exceed industry drawing standards.

Review and direct architectural drawing sets, fabrication shop drawings and construction submissions to ensure design intent is achieved.

Assist and support Project Managers in the development of fabrication, construction details and installation of all decorative furniture including, but not limited to, upholstery, artwork , accessories and hangings.

· Incorporate creative design development into well-organized and formatted presentations, calendars, tear-off sheets and other external documents to best represent the company’s brand identity.

· Drive design reviews and successful meetings with excellent time management, schedule planning and preparation of meeting agendas, staged printed materials and meeting minutes.

· Produce and maintain 3D models for all interior projects, including material and finish updates, custom joinery and furniture alternations.

Help the manager prioritize team or business support needs to achieve a successful project schedule, scope of work, budgets and external deliverables.

· Organize and maintain all project files on the internal server, including external correspondence and other relevant documents associated with the success and foundation of each project.

SKILLS

· Superior verbal and communication skills with accountability and follow-through.

· In-depth knowledge of design history, design trends and interior landscape.

· Working knowledge of how to guide all phases of design, from concept development to installation.

Knowledge of building codes and design industry standards.

Knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino, V-Ray, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office.

· Excellent time management skills to work under pressure and deliver projects to tight deadlines.

· Critical thinking with the ability to foresee problems and suggest solutions.

· Lead by example, create a working environment that promotes a high level of commitment, skills development and efficiency in terms of productivity and quality.

Comfortable with taking time out from routine tasks as needed to quickly adapt to changing plans and priorities in a constantly changing environment.

· Professionally in critical feedback and proactively in seeking support and help when needed.

EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or interior design.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in an architecture or interior design firm, including at least 4 years of experience in the residential or high-end hotel industry.

· Proven experience in a dynamic environment that values ​​consistency, efficiency and excellence.

· Experience in a business that requires a team to execute the common vision, understands the value of the individual and the team.

WORK TIMETABLE

· The position is based in the New York Showroom and is not remote.

Full-time showroom hours: Monday to Friday, typically 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

· Longer hours and availability on weekends, requested as needed.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW AND REGISTRATION SCHEDULE

· 1: 1 weekly.

· Annual performance review.
