  • Manufacture of high-efficiency large-area (>26%) monocrystalline silicon wafer solar cells and large-area (>30%) perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells
  • Research on the following:
    • Carry out design of experiments (DOE) to obtain optimized processes on pilot-scale ALD, PVD and/or PECVD equipment
    • Develop and/or optimize dielectric coatings, TCO films for optimal optics, surface passivation and low resistivity contacts
    • Develop and/or optimize absorber films for optimal electronic properties and surface passivation
    • Fabricate high-efficiency heterojunction silicon and/or perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells
    • Contribute effectively to project teams for improving solar cell efficiency
    • Effectively plan and communicate ideas and results to the team and help develop new processes and improve existing ones

  • Perform processes for high-efficiency silicon wafers and tandem solar cells as required, involving the operation of tools such as: ALD, PECVD, sputtering, evaporation, die coating, wet chemical tools, tube furnaces, tool laser, screen printing, baking/hardening oven, etc.
  • Assist the group with processing and characterization services for various company-funded and publicly funded projects.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or materials science with a specialization in photovoltaic silicon or microelectronics.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing and metrology of silicon or perovskite solar cells, or any other relevant experience in manufacturing silicon or perovskite devices.
  • Researchers with prior experience in developing large area silicon wafers or large area perovskite solar cells will be preferred. Experience with silicon heterojunction and perovskite-silicon tandem technologies is a plus.
  • Required to work in clean room, glove box and semiconductor characterization labs.
  • Expertise in DOE software, AutoCAD or relevant grid design tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal (English) communication skills required.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Regular, reliable and predictable attendance required.
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
