Seeking an interior designer or interior designer to assist with residential interior, new construction, commercial office and hospitality projects. Small, friendly office with growth potential to become a lead designer for the company. The designer will be involved from the schematic/conceptual phases, through to construction administration.

Responsibilities involve drawing plans, elevations, preparing presentation drawings and images, material selections and research, specifications and schedule preparation. Applicants should have prior experience working with AutoCAD in an architectural office; Experience in New York will be preferred. Only selected candidates will be contacted.

The ideal candidate should have the following skills:

  • Great attention to detail and quality control.
  • Capacity for self-criticism.
  • Strong organizational, listening, communication and design skills.
  • Communicate concepts and designs in presentation graphics and technical drawings.
  • Refer to building codes and research independently.

The candidate must:

  • Coordinate with vendors and product representatives.
  • Develop schematic design layouts and concepts, as well as FF&E selections.
  • Participate in the creation of filing sets and construction documents.
  • Help maintain the office materials library and stay up to date with current industry trends, products and technology.
  • Assist project managers in all phases of the project, including client presentation documents.
  • Manage project documents and meet LETA office standards.
  • Absorb new information quickly and manage tasks across multiple projects.
  • Keep an organized record of project hours worked.

The candidate must:

  • Have at least a bachelor’s degree in architecture or a diploma in interior design.
  • Master AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modeling programs and renderers, such as SketchUp, Revit, and Rhino.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
