New Hovermap Data Integration in PointCab Origins Streamlines Point Cloud to Output

Hovermap, Emesent’s flagship product, is a range and mapping payload capable of capturing high-resolution LiDAR data above ground or underground, indoors or outdoors. Hovermap’s proven battery life features allow it to fly supported drones, such as the DJI M210, DJI M300 or Acecore Zoe, beyond line of sight and communication range.

PointCab Origins is a 3D data visualization, manipulation and measurement tool that makes it easy to combine multiple scans from different sources, including land and mobile scans, to produce a project. Users can create floor plans and sections, measure areas, distances, volumes and more. All or part of a point cloud can be transferred directly into CAD programs, or projects can be output to AutoCAD files or interchangeable formats.

The new integration allows PointCab Origins to automatically detect a Hovermap scan and select project settings for the best results. Available in the latest version, this integration enables clear images with more precise vectorization and streamlines the workflow from point cloud to modeling, saving users time.

Integration will reduce the time required to produce high-quality output with PointCab’s intuitive management and comprehensive workflow allowing Hovermap users to easily turn their high-resolution scans into full, comprehensive projects that produce BIM or CAD models detailed.

When handling their Hovermap data, users will be able to take advantage of all standard PointCab Origins modules. These include Layouts & Sections, to create floor plans with just a few clicks; and Sketch, which provides the tools for measuring areas, distances and angles.

Emesent CEO Dr Stefan Hrabar said the integration would help Hovermap users in the surveying, architectural or planning industries get even more out of their analyzes.

“Hovermap allows users to capture data even in the most difficult and difficult to use areas, like building facades or an entire bridge, from the tallest cables below the bridge. This integration with PointCab Origins gives them quick and easy visualization, measurements and manipulation of this data.

“We are delighted to be partnering with another market leading technology provider,” said Dr Hrabar.

“Integrating our respective solutions will help clients save time, increase productivity and improve bottom line, making it easier for them to seize new opportunities and improve returns. “
