Intermediate Design Architect – New York, NY, US | Works

RZAPS (Architecture and Planning Ricardo Zurita) is an award-winning collaborative company that focuses on projects that animate the city’s public life.

Our projects are diverse and include a wide range of project types, from new buildings to historic renovations. Our mission is to develop unique and process-oriented designs in collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders, from private clients and public agencies to community groups.

We are looking for the next key player in our dynamic design team: a full-time intermediate design architect with a minimum of 3 years of experience able to take on a variety of tasks and responsibilities. The position offers opportunities for accelerated professional growth, including experience with a range of project types and with the public review process. Our horizontal collaborative working environment ensures that each member of the firm contributes significantly to improving the quality of our projects.

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree (5 years) or master’s degree in architecture
  • Passion for design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in schematic design through construction documents
  • Computer drawing skills including BIM (we use ArchiCAD), AutoCAD and visualization software including Rhino
  • Enthusiasm to follow projects from design to construction
  • Interest in contributing to projects subject to public scrutiny
