Brass Against Release Statement on Frontwoman Peeing On Fan

UPDATE: Brass Against has released a statement regarding the pee incident that occurred during their Welcome To Rockville performance. They say it’s “not something you will see at our shows”.

Brass Against stole the show yesterday (November 12) at Welcome to Rockville when singer Sophia Urista pissed on a consenting fan as she performed on stage. As she sang “Wake Up” from Rage Against the Machine, Urista unleashed a powerful flow as the fan stood face up on the festival stage.

In case you’re unfamiliar with Brass Against, the rock collective creates brass versions of songs from Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath and many more. Tom Morello even gave the band his stamp of approval.

Anyway, a fan present showered himself with gold for reasons that remain unclear. At first he appeared to have a GoPro on his head, but it fell when he started to lie on the ground. The dude seemed to be having fun though, with the crowd going absolutely mad as Urista let go of the guy. The band continued to perform throughout the deck of “Wake Up” as if everything was normal, while Urista repeated Zack de la Rocha’s haunting lyrics “I think I heard a knock”.

Once the stream was over, the peeing man was celebrating as if his first child had just been born. He slammed Tiger Woods hand pumps and followed him spraying pee from his mouth like Triple H entering the ring at Wrestlemania.

Brass Against said on Twitter that the hit was unexpected, even apologizing to those who were offended:

Maybe Brass Against will take the crowd-pleasing stunt with them when Tool opens in Europe next year. Maybe bring a poncho if you sit in the first five rows.
