Leroy Street Studio is a unique architectural firm with an integrated practice model that integrates community design, construction management and interior design. Our work is inspired by innovation, the construction profession and a collaborative approach.

We are looking for a Design Technology Director to take the lead on all design technology solutions used in our practice. The ideal candidate has a holistic approach to the role of technology in improving design workflows, presentation aesthetics, and the presentation experience. They have an educator mindset and enjoy promoting an understanding of BIM, virtual reality, and other relevant technologies to staff using and not using BIM.

Main duties

  • Lead the business in finding, adopting and integrating appropriate design technology solutions into daily workflows.
  • Develop and manage internal and external project collaboration protocols for data exchange between ARCHICAD, Rhino, Sketchup, Revit and Autocad.
  • Support the development, implementation and auditing of BIM standards and enterprise-wide work processes.
  • Provide daily ARCHICAD support simultaneously on multiple complex large-scale projects.
  • Provide training and support to project teams and new recruits.
  • Develop BIM guidelines, tutorials and training materials.
  • Perform reviews of project models to ensure accuracy and coordination.
  • Occasional and on-demand production work for complex or critical workflows.
  • Acquire, develop and maintain libraries of ARCHICAD objects.
  • Develop and maintain ARCHICAD model files.
  • Work with an IT consultant to maintain work sharing servers and all design software licenses.
  • Proactively research new and emerging technologies; attend technical events and training on appropriate products.

Required Skills :

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience as a BIM Manager and / or as an architect.
  • Previous experience in teaching, training or presenting to small and medium sized groups.
  • In-depth knowledge of the GRAPHISOFT product portfolio including ARCHICAD, BIMcloud and BIMx.
  • Hands-on experience with VR (Oculus, HTC Vive) and real-time visualization (Twinmotion, ProspectVR) is a plus.
