Auto Desk and Epic Games team up to deliver more visually appealing architectural designs

Epic Games has partnered with Autodesk to incorporate types of game graphics into architecture tools, making it visually appealing and creating a fascinating twist on boring maps. With Autodesk architecture software like Revit, designers can create 3D design plans, but it’s pretty simple and boring for people like me. Through this collaboration, more tools will be added for designers to create visually appealing architectural designs. The new tools will preferably be those usually used in game development such as Unreal Engine, ray tracing and a huge library of 3D assets to populate environments.

As part of the partnership, people who have subscribed to Autodesk Revit will have free access to Epic Game’s Twinmotion, a real-time visualization tool powered by Unreal Engine.

Taking creativity to the next level with visually appealing architectural designs

Autodesk design software such as AutoCAD and Revit are primarily used by architects for construction planning. From initial concept sketches to 3D renderings and later documents to aid in the actual construction process. Twinmotion’s touch in these designs can provide more interactive experiences for end users, such as realistic still images, environmental animations, and even VR integration for virtual tours.

The best thing is that clients will be able to communicate with designers in real time, which will save time in requested changes faster compared to traditional tools. Additionally, as part of the partnership, people who have subscribed to Autodesk Revit will have free access to Epic Game’s Twinmotion, a real-time visualization tool powered by Unreal Engine.

While recounting this, Marc Petit, Vice President of Epic Games said:

“By leveraging Epic’s ecosystem of real-time 3D tools and libraries, users can spend more time bringing their designs to life and less time managing complex data and technical workflows,”

Although this is a good initiative, I think it will revolutionize the construction and real estate sector. Also, it will be easier for customers/end users to have a real picture of what their home will look like in the future.
