We are currently looking for an Architectural Associate to join our team. Applicants should have a keen interest in the built environment and be enthusiastic about teamwork and design research, possess excellent writing and rendering skills, and have a thoughtful and professional disposition towards clients. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to develop projects through all phases of design and construction. Qualified candidates will hold a professional diploma (BArch) or a master’s degree in architecture and 5 to 8 years of experience.

Experience should clearly demonstrate a strong creative design portfolio, which is essential for this position, as well as strong project leadership. Applicants should demonstrate their ability to fit into all phases of the project and should have an interest in developing a solid technical knowledge of architectural systems that would be required by interiors of corporate, hospitality, residential and use projects. mixed. Responsibilities:
• translate clients’ functional and spatial requirements for structures into workable design solutions, incorporating custom details, structural engineering principles and building systems into architectural designs; incorporate space planning and scheduling and custom details into designs; site survey of existing conditions and taking measurements as constructed;
• Analyze sketches, photographs, notes and other input from the site survey to determine the best approaches to completing the drawings to resolve technical design issues related to sites and sites. buildings;
• coordinate the contributions of several designers and senior managers to translate them into design solutions; make necessary changes to drawings and specifications as construction projects progress and changes in dimensions, materials and other aspects of the design result from input from the client, agency or the public
• develop documents for all phases of design, from schematic design to construction documents, including documentation of architectural plans, elevations and details in imperial or metric standards for corrections by jurisdictional agencies using ‘3D modeling software including Autodesk AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Autodesk Revit, Sketchup and 2D programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint;
• use independent thinking and develop conceptual alternatives, studies and developments requiring 3D digital volumetry, floor plans, space plans, building elevations, sections and perspectives;
• produce computer visualizations based on digital building models throughout the design process to examine design solutions in a 3D environment and to facilitate the coordination workflow with mechanical, structure and lighting consultants;
• coordinate design drawings with consultants in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection (MEP / FP), Civil, Structural, Acoustics, Lighting, Telecommunications, Graphics, Interior and Landscape to incorporate the construction systems into the architectural designs to produce construction documentation and secure client and regulatory approval;
• Participate in the research and selection of building materials and FF&E components (furniture, fixtures and equipment) required for construction and work with consultants, suppliers, product representatives and manufacturers to achieve the overall goals of the project ;
• research national and international building codes and regulations, collect data and integrate research and data into architectural designs;
• research materials and products for exteriors and interiors;
• work collaboratively with the sustainable design leadership in the continuous improvement and development of high performance design to maintain and improve the quality and consistency of the design environment and deliverables;
• Perform construction administration through site visits, field observations and meetings to review construction progress;
• assist in evaluating tenders, estimates and budgets for general contractors’ contracts,
• coordination with project architects, project managers, clients, consultants and contractors to respond to requests for information (RFI), clarifications and modifications;
• apply architectural principles to examine contractors’ shop drawings, quotes, samples and mock-ups.

Qualifications:
• Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization and graphics software; Highly preferred Revit / AutoCAD / Rhino.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Problem-solving skills, attention to detail and motivation to learn.
• Time management and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently on projects.
• Work towards ARE exams / licenses.
• Legal work status in the United States / Fluency in written and spoken English
