Architectural Designer – Architect I/II – San Antonio, TX, US | Works

THE ROLE

As Intermediate Architecture Staff, you will work to coordinate team efforts to complete project documents. You will be required to develop designs to meet client expectations and objectives, create and propose project time estimates, and act as an intermediary between the client and sub-contractors on a variety of residential and commercial buildings including churches, mixed-use buildings and institutional projects.

  • Provides support to multiple concurrent project managers and projects
  • Translate concept sketches into CAD drawings, revise shop drawings and assist in the development of client presentations
  • Assist with construction administration including site visits and help with design challenges
  • Maintain internal project management systems
  • Assist the Project Manager in meeting client expectations regarding design intent, budgets, estimates and schedules for assigned projects
  • Work with the team to develop design and construction documents
  • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors and other vendors to cultivate strong relationships

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional degree in architecture from an accredited school
  • 3 to 6 years and more of experience in the field of architecture
  • Mastery of AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in SketchUp and Adobe CSuite preferred
  • Working knowledge of building codes and design standards preferred
  • Interest in historical precedents, urbanism and new urbanism, craftsmanship and materiality an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail and resourceful
  • Strong organizational, communication and relationship management skills
